COVID-19 & Coring Update

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Dear Members

Since previous communication on April 8th I would like to provide a further update on Pun Hlaing Estate precautions to COVID-19 and the Golf Clubs position. The level 2 lockdown of the estate whereby access is restricted to those whom live within Pun Hlaing Estate only has been extended until further notice of May 4th 2020 when the next update will be provided.

As many have now returned to office or working from home the Golf Course is much quieter so a decision has been made to utilize this time to execute the planned Greens coring maintenance. This was previously scheduled for the middle of May but in addition to many working from home we have experienced some high winds which indicate a change in the season is imminent thus meaning rains could be likely and we cannot afford for the monsoons to interrupt the much needed greens coring. Therefore, we will no longer close the Golf Course during May 11th -15th as we will be executing these works starting from today.

Q: So what does this mean?

A: As of today Monday 20th April we will be closing the back 9 holes and operating with the front 9 holes only so that we can core, top-dress and irrigate each green on the back 9. The back 9 will reopen Saturday 25th April for a full course on the weekend. Then Monday 27th April we will close the front 9 to perform the same works and re-open the full course Saturday 2nd May.

As per the latest announcement from the Ministry of Health & Sports you are advised to wear a face mask when leaving your home at all times.

Stay home, healthy and thank you for your continued support.
